Applications of Alpha-Pinene

• Fragrance & perfumery: Used for its fresh, pine-like, woody aroma in perfumes, fragrances, soaps, and personal-care formulations.
• Flavor applications: Used as a flavoring ingredient where permitted and at appropriate levels.
• Terpene formulations: Used as a component in botanical and terpene blends.
• Research & analytical use: Used as a reference compound and research material in analytical chemistry and terpene studies.
• Industrial applications: Used as a starting material or intermediate in the production of various chemicals and specialty products.
• Aromatherapy products: May be incorporated into certain aromatic formulations, subject to applicable formulation and regulatory requirements.

Storage

• Store Alpha-Pinene in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat, sparks, flames, and direct sunlight. When handling the product, use appropriate PPE and maintain adequate ventilation to minimize vapor exposure. Furthermore, avoid inhaling vapors and prevent direct contact with the skin and eyes. In addition, keep the container securely closed when not in use and limit exposure to excessive heat. Finally, always follow the current SDS and applicable regulations for safe handling, spill response, storage, and disposal.

Handling Instructions:

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
  • Wear protective gloves, safety goggles, and a face mask when handling to avoid irritation.
  • Avoid direct skin or eye contact as the product is highly concentrated and pungent.
• Ventilation:
  • Handle in a well-ventilated area or under an appropriate fume hood to avoid inhaling fumes.
• Spill Management:
  • In case of spills, use absorbent materials like sand or cloth to clean up immediately.
  • Avoid water, as it can spread the product and worsen the spill area.
• First Aid:
  • Skin Contact: Wash immediately with plenty of soap and cool water. Avoid hot water, as it may intensify irritation.
  • Eye Contact: Rinse eyes thoroughly with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
  • Inhalation: Move to fresh air immediately. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.
