Description
Butanol (Butyl Alcohol) occurs naturally as a minor product of the ethanol fermentation of sugars. It is utilized as a solvent in many chemical and textile processes, as well as in organic synthesis and as a chemical intermediary. Butanol is also employed as a paint thinner and solvent in various coating applications that require a slow-evaporating latent solvent, such as lacquers and ambient-cured enamels. It is also incorporated into hydraulic and braking fluids.
