Farnesol is a sesquiterpene alcohol that can be found in many essential oils like citronella, neroli, cyclamen, lemon grass, tuberose, rose, musk, balsam, and tolu. Farnesol is used in perfumes to enhance the fragrance of sweet floral perfumes. Farnesol may improve perfume fragrance by acting as a volatile co-solvent.
